As a Christian mom navigating the joys and challenges of three small children, I've discovered firsthand the profound impact that surrounding ourselves with scripture can have on our daily lives. I've found that incorporating God's word into every aspect of our lives is not only important but invaluable.
Being in Houston, I often have the opportunity to hear my favorite Christian women's speaker and teacher, Beth Moore. Her passion and poise have always resonated with me and have helped me dive deeper into my journey with God. This past winter while attending one of Beth's live bible studies, I remember distinctly hearing her words. Moore stated that, "The Bible is the definitive revelation of Jesus Christ. It is not just a book about Him, it is Him." These words punched me in the gut as I reflected on the transformative nature of scripture and what this meant for me in my current life circumstance. If you take a moment to read my story, you'll find that sharing scripture through retail products isn't a new concept for me. When I found out that the company that I had worked with for the past 7 years was slipping out from under me I knew I had to pivot my business, but to what? That's when Beth's words hit my heart.
Although, I didn't know for sure what it was God had in store at the time, the one thing I was confident in was that sharing Jesus had to be at the core of whatever it was. Beth's words that night spoke clearly to me and reminded me of the importance of scripture in my work and in my life. Soon after, Truth Tellers Apparel was born.
When we immerse ourselves in God's word, whether through reading, memorization, or wearing it on our clothing, we invite His presence into our lives in a tangible way.
One of the most significant benefits of surrounding ourselves with scripture is the transformation it brings to our minds and hearts. Romans 12:2 urges us "not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds". When we fill our minds and spaces around us with the truth of God's word, we begin to think and act more like Christ, aligning our lives with His will.
For me, as a mom, it's essential to instill a love for scripture in my children from a young age. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to "train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it". Call it strategy if you will but I believe that by surrounding them with scripture, whether through children's t-shirts with Bible verses or bedtime stories straight from the Word, we lay a strong foundation for their faith to flourish.
But scripture isn't just for our personal growth—it's also a powerful tool for sharing the love of Christ with others. 1 Peter 3:15 encourages us to "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope that we have". When we wear Christian t-shirts with bold messages or incorporate scripture into our conversations, we have the opportunity to point others to the source of our hope and faith.
In a world filled with noise and distractions, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters. But as Christian women, we have the incredible privilege and responsibility to lead our families in the ways of the Lord. By surrounding ourselves and our loved ones with Truth, we not only deepen our own faith but also create an environment where God's presence is tangible and His love is known.
So let's embrace the power of scripture in our daily lives, whether through wearing Christian women's t-shirts, dressing our children in apparel that proclaims God's truth, or simply spending time studying on His word. As Beth Moore reminds us, the Bible is not just a book about Jesus—it is Him. Let's allow His transformative presence to shape us into the women—and moms—God has called us to be.
